Contractual advice, valuation, negotiation and settlement of contested matters including in relation to claims for additional payment and in the circumstances of builder default; either privately or in one of the various dispute resolution forums.
Steve Leech has given expert evidence to the Technology And Construction Courts in accordance with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules, the Civil Justice Council Guidance for the instruction of experts in civil claims 2014, the Pre-action Protocol for Construction and Engineering Disputes and the RICS Practice Statement Surveyors acting as expert witnesses 4th edition. He has been appointed as a joint expert and one of two experts to prepare separate reports and subsequently one joint report; he has also given verbal expert evidence from the witness box.
He has prepared Scott Schedules for the County Court, acted as a party representative in adjudication in accordance with the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act, and prepared independent valuations (expert determinations) for private settlements.
